Shortly after September 11, 2001, members of the Uniformed Fire Officers Association designed an FDNY hat to raise money for their Bravest Scholarship Fund. After being sold to firefighters across the country, it resulted in over $100,000 being donated to that fund.
Recently, Captain Mike Currid met with artist Siobhan Duggan and asked her to design an FDNY necktie for the Uniformed Fire Officers Association. He showed her pictures of firefighter apparatus, tools and fires. It was her opinion that the firefighters saluting the flag-draped stretchers being removed from the WTC site was most significant.
All profits from the sale of this tie will be donated to the
UFOA Bravest Scholarship Fund.
The donation is $25 per tie.
