Recently, the Department has requested volunteers who posses a Commercial Drivers License to drive MTA buses at Line of Duty Funerals or other official functions.
      

The UFOA reminds all Fire Officers that their job description does not include driving, only supervising Firefighters who are driving. Consequently, the UFOA cannot endorse this request for volunteers to drive City Buses. There are other considerations here, not the least of which is personal liability and performing the job functions of another union members job position.
