854 PASS ALONG BULLETIN
#11 of 2007

TO:                           All Divisions/Battalions/Companies

SUBJECT:                 OPS-07-09-54

Special Building Inspections

  • All above units should have received the above.

  • All units should comply with the orders regarding these “Special Building Inspections.”

  • Inspections should only be done during daylight hours.

  • In some Divisions, there are a very large number of buildings that need to be inspected; accordingly, units should inspect as many as humanly possible.

  • It appears that these inspections are to take place over the weekend, when finding a competent person may be a problem.  If so, note this on report.

  • It appears that these inspections are to supercede Multi-Unit Drill or any other scheduled activities.  If you are in doubt, contact the Battalion and/or Division.

  • We should understand the need for these inspections, however four days, including Saturday and Sunday will be problematic for those units with large numbers of buildings to be inspected.

  • Those units who have the above problem, or encounter heavy fire duty should file a letterhead report with the report to Operations.  This separate report should clearly state the difficulties encountered (ie. Too many buildings; insufficient time to inspect; 3rd alarm, etc.).  Also fax a copy to the UFOA at (212) 292-1560.

If you have any problems, remember that a UFOA Representative is available 24/7.
