Hurricane Katrina Disaster Relief Update

At the September General Membership Meeting, the membership voted to donate $50,000 to the IAFF Disaster Relief Fund which provides assistance to IAFF members directly affected by Hurricane Katrina. The UFA previously donated $100,000 to the Fund. I want to thank the membership for your generosity and I urge you to continue raising money at your individual firehouses. One extra dollar on the meal for a defined number of days will add up quickly. We have been on the receiving end of the generosity of our brother and sister IAFF members and our donations are greatly appreciated by those effected locals. The FDNY will continue to send personnel as requested and the FDNY Counseling Unit is providing peer counselors to assist the IAFF's efforts in Baton Rouge.

To date, the IAFF has provided $750,000 in direct aid to our members. Thank you for your generosity. Additional donations should be payable to IAFF Disaster Relief Fund and sent to:
