TURN OUT AND SUPPORT
CHIEF HAYDENHow many times have you asked this question, “When will one of our Chiefs stand up to City Hall on behalf of our members?”
Well, if you read the New York Times on Friday, April 22, 2005, then you saw the front page story where Chief Hayden stood up for our Department and the safety of our members.
Now, Chief Hayden will be subpoenaed by City Council to testify about the CIMS document. His career is on the line because he did what he knew was right. The UFOA is working closely with the City Council, but we need your help. If you live in New York City, please call your Councilman/woman and voice your support for Chief Hayden and ask your family and friends to do the same.
On Monday, May 9 th , at 10 AM, we urge all off-duty members to show up in Class A uniform or dressed to identify yourself as a Fire Officer, to City Hall on the Broadway side. Although only a small number of members will be allowed in the Council Chamber, we will gather on Broadway with our banner in support of Chief Hayden.
